Exceptional architecture, modern design and the harmony of nature, all come together in the Green Hall II business centre in Vilnius, located close to the Neris riverside. The project client, SBA Group, formed a hard task to Gforma solid surface fabricators to design and manufacture an original reception desk representing the entire building, which would replicate the spacious, light, nature-inspired interior with its plastic forms, and at the same time be functional and comfortable for the employees and visitors of the business centre.
Gforma has drawn on its many years of experience and special technology to design and manufacture the Green Hall II reception desk from acrylic solid surface. The elegant piece of art resembles a sleek, white rock, worn away by the sea waves, and makes a perfect match for the grey soft sofas that echo flat stones. This ensemble is arranged in the bright foyer space with high ceilings, on the white ceramic paneled floor. Corian Glacier White solid surface material proved to be the right choice for this project.
Another architecturally attractive business centre ALIA is located on the Kaunas city waterfront near the confluence of Nemunas and Neris rivers. The revived historical Nemunas Pier building is three levels higher than the previous one. The authors of the complex reconstruction project are two architects from Nebrau architect studio, Laurynas Avyžius and Andrius Kalinauskas. These innovative professionals have tried to reflect in the interior the whole history of the building. By exposing the old details as openly as possible, the architects combined modern materials and contemporary design elements.
The restrooms of Alia business centre also feature exclusive accents: large tinted mirrors and minimalistic acrylic solid surface vanities, fabricated and installed by Gforma professionals. The architects were very attentive to details when choosing the material. The possible alternative options included natural stone and engineered quartz. The final decision was to use hi-tech acrylic stone for this project. The colour pattern of Hi-macs Laviano M426 not only echoes the wall tone and complements the overall interior concept, but also brings in modern look. This colour choice proved to be very practical in public space.
Most restrooms have long double vanities with flat, slightly tilted bottom for the water to run down towards one edge. Looking at such vanity, the drain is invisible, it is hidden between two bottoms. Just a narrow strip for the water to drain can be seen at the back edge of the vanity. Such shape helps to reveal the pattern and texture of the beautiful Hi-Macs Laviano solid surface pattern. Hanging vanities give the impression of lightness, though in reality acrylic solid surface is heavy. The hanging vanities are fixed to the wall with special brackets. As acrylic sinks can be integrated into acrylic vanities without visible seams, the whole piece of furniture looks as one piece. A small splashguard is also added without seams. Such vanities are easy to clean as there are no gaps for water or dirt to accumulate.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Lithuania, the Gforma team was entrusted to fabricate and install the visual information system for the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Several Corian solid surface colours were used for this challenging project: Corian Bone, Corian Royal Red, Corian Silver Gray, Corian Black Quartz. The latest printing technologies guarantee durability of prints for exclusive corian surfaces.
Another challenging designer project came from JSC Sumanios idėjos. Gforma team produced and installed a logo of volumetric letters near the headquarters of Apranga main office building in Vilnius. This was the first volumetric project in Lithuania where Corian Glacier White acrylic stone was used for outdoors. The special internal construction of the letters and the production technology guarantee durability and resistance to temperature changes.
